Final Fever for Holloway Juniors

Holloway Gaels Juniors after securing their place in the 2025 County Final with a win over Tara Juniors

Our Junior team has made a fantastic start to the 2025 Championship campaign, recording three wins from three to book a well-deserved place in the County Final on August 30th.

We kicked things off on Wednesday, 25th June with a strong performance against Fr. Murphy’s at Tottenhall Recreation Grounds. The team played with great composure and control throughout, finishing with a 2-10 to 0-08 victory.

Next up was a tough away fixture against Dulwich Harps in Mitcham on Wednesday, 9th July. Trailing at halftime, the girls dug deep and showed brilliant determination, teamwork and sharp shooting to turn the game around and secure a 6-08 to 3-14 win. Huge credit to Manager Shane Hanrahan and Club Management Assistant Emily de Caires for their leadership on the day.

With two wins under our belt, we headed into the County semi-final on Saturday, 26th July against Tara Juniors at Cayton Road. A strong squad was available and the team hit the ground running, taking a 3-05 to 0-02 lead into the break. The second half saw us add four more goals to the tally, with the game finishing 7-07 to 0-05 in our favour. County Final spot secured.

This is the second final the Juniors will contest having made the league final in April and will hope to go one better this time round. With St. Kiernan's named as opposition for the final all efforts will be focused on the training pitches in the coming weeks to prepare.
